The Head of Learning & Teaching will be central to driving this continued excellence and sustaining enhancements in learning, teaching and assessment. Not only will the postholder play a key role in helping to deliver the vision outlined in the University’s already forward-thinking Education Strategy, but in the context of the still evolving pandemic, the postholder will be key to unlocking the opportunities for innovation now presented. Championing new, effective pedagogies, and remaining at the forefront of change and all emerging trends, successful candidates will be passionate advocates of a contemporary learning experience. You will demonstrate leadership in this regard across the University, advising Faculties and other internal colleagues, including leading and managing staff in Anglia Learning and Teaching and directing the Centre for Innovation in Higher Education. Reporting to the Director of Learning Development Services, and working closely with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education), you will provide direction around areas such as Active Collaborative and Inclusive Learning, and technology enhanced learning.

Successful candidates will bring deep and wide understanding of relevant developments in the higher education sector, and a track record in innovating and implementing successful change in learning, teaching and assessment, including experience in implementing institution-wide strategies and policies. They will have strong communication and relationship-building skills, and couple a service mindset with the ability to persuade and influence at senior levels. The role will require staff and budgetary management, as well as strong project and change management abilities. Critically, candidates will demonstrate clear commitment to and promote the importance of diversity and inclusion, helping to ensure all students are able to fulfil their potential.

Location: Cambridge.
