Malvern College Qingdao (MCQ) was established in 2012 as the first overseas sister school to Malvern College, one of the UK’s leading independent boarding schools. Since its creation, MCQ has enjoyed a period of considerable growth and success and is now a vibrant, full boarding community of 850 pupils aged 11-18.

MCQ now stands on the cusp of an exciting new phase in its development and seeks an outstanding Head with experience, ambition and vision to ensure the College’s continued success. This is an exciting opportunity to lead MCQ through a period of growth, continued academic improvement and organisational development, and to contribute as a key member of the global Malvern family of schools.

The successful candidate will be an experienced leader with a strong track record of change management in a cross-cultural setting. He or she will have the vision and strategic skills to lead MCQ into the next stage of organisational maturity, together with the resilience, diplomatic skills and emotional intelligence to operate effectively in China and in a multi-stakeholder setting. Visible leadership, strong interpersonal skills and the charisma and gravitas to inspire the MCQ community are all important. Experience in China is valuable but not essential, and candidates must demonstrate a genuine resonance with the Malvern Qualities.

Malvern College Qingdao is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.  The successful candidate must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post.
