Porticus’ Building a Vital Church (BVC) Portfolio seeks to support the revitalisation of the Catholic Church. The interventions within the BVC Portfolio align with Porticus’ global footprint across the different portfolios, particularly those intersecting with the Church; especially, Catholic Spiritual Formation, Catholic Higher Education, and Child Protection. BVC also aim to programme across regions and share best practices within and beyond Porticus’ 11 country and regional offices.

Porticus is looking for a Programme Manager for BVC with approximately 5 to 10 years of professional experience within the philanthropy or development sectors related to Church-based initiatives in Africa. The successful candidate will support, monitor and evaluate the grant-making and programme work within the BVC portfolio. They will discern emerging trends in the field and will support research and analysis of critical issues emerging within the BVC sector in Africa. Moreover, the candidate will have a proven track-record of building an effective ecosystem and in maintaining excellent connections with relevant stakeholders, grantees and partners, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The location of the role is in Nairobi, Kenya. Travel will be required for this position (up to 30%, complying with regional guidelines for Covid-19). This position reports to the Regional Director of Africa who is based in Nairobi and to the global Portfolio Manager for BVC.
