We are now looking to appoint an exceptional individual as Chief Operating Officer. Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor and President, the Chief Operating Officer is responsible for the leadership, development and alignment of the professional support infrastructure at York, comprising Technology, Estates and Facilities, Student and Academic Services, Human Resources, External Relations, Research and Enterprise, Planning and Risk Management, and Legal Services. As a member of the University Executive Board, the Chief Operating Officer will lead institutional change and ensure the University maintains its reputation as a world-class institution for teaching and research.

We are looking for an empowering and collaborative leader with significant experience of senior strategic leadership and the ability to deliver change and complex operational management across multifaceted professional service functions. Candidates will need to demonstrate a passion to deliver the University’s aims and objectives, coupled with an enthusiasm for all that it is seeking to achieve and to role model the University's values in all aspects of the role.
