The Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA)  is an archaeological practice and charity which undertakes a range of educational and research activities and provides archaeological services to clients both in and out of London.  It is one of the largest archaeological service providers in the UK and the only one with Independent Research Organisation status.  MOLA places great emphasis on the quality of its research and its research-led engagement work and strives to position archaeology as a critical social science relevant to the issues of the contemporary world. For more information, please see our website www.mola.org.uk.

We are now seeking to strengthen and diversify our board with the appointment of two new trustees. We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals from within the archaeology sector who bring significant academic leadership. We would expect candidates to be committed to sharing their passion for archaeology and to enjoy actively engaging in, and promoting, MOLA’s mission. Successful candidates would bring vision, excellent communication skills, a good understanding of governance and an ability to operate at board level.

The role is unremunerated but out-of-pocket expenses are reimbursed.  The time commitment is about one day per month.  Most meetings are in Central London.

The closing date for applications is midnight (GMT) Monday 18th January 2021.

We particularly welcome applications from black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates, and all other underrepresented groups, because we would like to increase the representation of these groups on our board. We want to do this because we know greater diversity will lead to even greater results.
