Founded in 1906, The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama is a globally renowned institution of the theatrical and performing arts. An independent federal member of the University of London, we develop practitioners and researchers who are leaders in their fields and shape the future of theatre and performance. Our areas of specialism cover performance (acting, voice, movement), creative, design and production (theatre practice), and drama and applied theatre.
Central is now seeking to appoint a new Director of Operations. This individual will be crucial in ensuring smooth operations of non-academic professional services across the School and will provide resource to departments including Human Resources, IT Services and Facilities and Estates. The post holder will help with the development and co-ordination of the Strategic Plan and make a vital contribution to the student experience, equality, diversity and inclusion, regulatory compliance and to the health, safety and well-being agenda.
The new Director will need to be a strong manager experienced in overseeing similar services and motivating and developing Heads of Department and other support staff. It will be important that this individual has excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with staff, students, visitors and external partners. Candidates will also need to bring significant leadership, strategic and forecasting skills. It is desirable that candidates have passion and enthusiasm for the vision, values and work that Central does.
