The European Climate Foundation (ECF) was founded in 2008 as a major philanthropic initiative to help tackle climate change by fostering the development of a low-carbon society at the national, European and global level. We support over 300 partner organisations to carry out activities that contribute to the public debate on climate action, drive urgent and ambitious policy in support of the objectives of the  Paris Agreement and help deliver a socially responsible transition to a net-zero emissions economy and sustainable society in Europe and around the world.

We are currently seeking a Director of the CEO’s Office, working closely with the Chief Executive, Laurence Tubiana, to advise on, and manage, her external representational role, with a particular attention to high-level political engagement in France, key European countries and the international community. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, and with a direct line to the CEO, the Director is a key political advisor to the CEO and will define and execute a complex and multi-stakeholder strategy for the CEO’s priorities.

In this role, we are seeking a dynamic individual with experience gained in climate change, diplomacy and sustainable development. The successful Director will be comfortable engaging with high-level decisionmakers, bring existing networks, and a proven track record of working with tact and discretion. They will be a strong communicator, both written and verbal, and fluent in both English and French. Most importantly, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a genuine interest in the mission and values of the ECF.

The role will be based in Paris. This is a full-time position and the salary is competitive and commensurate with the experience required.
