We are seeking to appoint an experienced senior academic/practitioner with a strong track record of academic leadership, professional accreditation process and subject expertise, delivering enhancements in student experience and satisfaction, employability, access and participation, retention and quality. Our ideal candidate will be change orientated and empathetic: someone who really cares about our students and the important role our academic and professional services staff play in their lives. You will be an innovator, able to shape a compelling offer and vision for the future of the School that builds on its existing strengths and excellent reputation, develops its offer and extends its reach, both domestically and internationally.
Institutionally we are TEF Silver and aiming for Gold and we continue to improve across key performance metrics with, for example, 97% of our graduates moving into work or further study within six months. We have built upon the success of the last REF to create a much more vibrant and extensive research culture and our new Head will continue to develop this culture across research, knowledge exchange and enterprise activity. Our new Head of School will also be committed to building on current initiatives to sustain and enhance the diversity of our student and staff populations in Architecture & Design. As Head of School, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the broader strategy for the Faculty of Arts, Design and Media as a member of the Faculty Executive leadership team with a shared positive and collegiate culture.
