Through its willingness to work within and outside the system to develop unconventional solutions, and pursue these solutions at both a grassroots and national level, the Foundation is bringing fresh thinking to entrenched and increasingly complex problems.
We are recruiting for an exciting role that will play a key part in the future development of the Foundation:
As part of the Oil Search Foundation senior executive team, the Chief Program Officer provides strategic and day to day leadership on all of our programs and relevant grants. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working in close collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer this position is key to the delivery of a new strategy and to shaping the future of the organisation as it moves forward. The Chief Program Officer will provide expert advice on the design and implementation of development programs and will be instrumental in identifying new opportunities to expand the reach of our activities across PNG.
The Chief Program Officer will bring significant NGO experience from a program delivery environment, ideally in areas congruent with the mission of the Oil Search Foundation, and the ability to work alongside partners to nurture opportunities and achieve desired project scale and impact. Experience of the stewardship of projects spanning multiple sectors and jurisdictions will be critical, as will the ability to lead and develop people in order to nurture talent and allow the Foundation to move to the next level. Vision, intellectual leadership and the ability to identify new opportunities based on the knowledge and expertise of the Foundation will be important, as will the capacity to lead across a range of functional and thematic areas and geographies. Pivotal to the role will be the ability to analyse project progress, learnings and outcomes in order to ensure that projects are achieving desired results from both program and financial perspectives, and therefore creating impact.
The role is based in Sydney with frequent travel to Port Moresby.
