We are now looking for our next strategic and visionary leader to leverage Plan International’s global profile, achieve even greater inclusivity and cohesiveness, and drive executional excellence in all of its operations. This is a unique opportunity to take on an ambitious role of significant breadth and influence. Our next leader will combine effective operational coordination, strategic vision and leadership to harness the collective strength of our teams across over 70 countries.

The CEO of Plan International will be accountable for creating greater impact for children through world-class programme and influencing activities. You will be responsible for continuing to deliver our transformation and ambitious strategy. You will ensure Plan International’s progressive ambition is delivered, its effectiveness is increased and its Global Strategy is developed and progressed through values-based leadership and a culture of innovation. As the public face of Plan International, you will represent the global organisation at the highest levels externally, building strategic alliances, promoting our Purpose and ensuring the continued growth of the organisation’s profile globally.

You will have a strong understanding of values-based leadership, underpinned by feminist leadership principles, such as joy in co-creating, sharing power, tackling bias, collective accountability, self and collective-care and anti-racism advocacy.

If you have a proven track record of leading a large, complex, global, an understanding of the context and climate for international NGOs, excellent negotiating and diplomacy skills, strong fluency in cross-cultural communication, effective management of finances and resources, and an approach that promotes an inclusive and empowering culture for talented staff, we invite you to apply.

Our international headquarters is in Woking, United Kingdom and the CEO will need to maintain a regular presence there. We are open to discussing the location of our next CEO. Relatively frequent international travel will be required.

The salary is commensurate with experience.
