Appointment of Academic Director and Provost
BIMM Institute (British and Irish Modern Music Institute) is Europe’s largest, most connected music and performing arts institute, with 8,200 students studying in 12 colleges and schools, based in vibrant cultural cities across the UK and Europe. We are passionate about nurturing talent and enabling future generations to find their place in the creative industries, more specifically in modern music, performing arts and film-making. Exceptional quality underpins all that we do, and for over 35 years, we have been committed to developing and supporting industry-ready students, ensuring that they have the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.
We offer a broad range of Higher and Further Education Courses in popular Music, Performing Arts and Film-making and in March 2019 we gained Taught Degree Awarding Powers (TDAP). BIMM Institute has secured new investment from ICG, Intermediate Capital Group Plc, a FTSE 100 listed company and we have exciting plans for further growth, domestically and internationally, through strategic M&A and the opening of new colleges in selected locations.
We are looking for a new Academic Director and Provost who will join our Executive Management Group, providing strategic and day-to-day leadership and management support to drive the delivery of business objectives and ensure academic success for our students. You will have skills and knowledge of Quality, Assurance, Governance and Compliance, effective Curriculum Development, and lead the continuous development and improvement of BIMM’s courses. Working collaboratively with colleagues, you will help ensure the effective management of the Group and help develop and inform future strategic direction.
You will have leadership and management experience gained within the UK higher and further education sector, with knowledge of working with the sector regulators and other agencies, and ideally, in the Music, Performing Arts or Film-making disciplines. Commercially adept, entrepreneurially minded, you will have excellent influencing and communication skills, and be highly motivated to join a fast-moving, ambitious, and agile Institute. You will be passionate about providing our students with the best possible skills and opportunities to succeed in the creative industries. This is an enormously stimulating and exciting time to join our organisation. We are looking for an aspirational individual who will thrive in our fast-paced environment and will enjoy sharing in, and delivering on, our ambitions for growth.
