The last year has meant change and challenge for everyone.
Citizens Advice has a long and proud history of giving millions of people from all walks of life the knowledge and confidence they need to solve their problems. Our role in society is now more crucial than ever: we are a data-rich, insight-led, social business with c.£300m of funding enabling us to support a vital network of independent charities across England and Wales offering free confidential advice about a wide range of issues. We also influence government and public services, and add significant social and economic value to society.
People are central to everything we do and how we adapt.
We are seeking an inspirational, talented and values driven Executive Director of People at a significant time for Citizens Advice.
Working closely with our new Chief Executive, Dame Clare Moriarty, as a thought partner and key member of the Executive Team and Executive Committee, you will bring strategic and operational excellence to build on core people and culture transformation work already underway, and lead the people service and our people, internal communications and engagement strategies. This, and the creation of a truly inclusive environment, can’t be done without seamless collaboration amongst all colleagues across our diverse organisation.
You will have a proven track record of successfully leading visionary change in a broad senior leadership role in a complex organisation, and be outcome-focused, self-motivated, flexible and enthusiastic in implementing plans, with a real passion for people, culture and organisational development.
If you embody our values, can demonstrate commitment to the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice service, and have the passion and know-how to play a significant role in shaping our unique organisation, building an inclusive culture and enabling Citizens Advice to be a great place to work for everyone, we would love to hear from you.
Citizens Advice is fully committed to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion principles – we stand up and speak up for those who face inequality and disadvantage, and we want this to be reflected in our workplace by ensuring diverse representation at all levels and truly inclusive practices.
We particularly welcome applications from disabled and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates as we are currently under-represented in these areas particularly at senior leadership levels. We are a member of the race equality campaign at Business in the Community and the Prince’s responsible business network and are committed to improving employment opportunities for ethnic minorities across the UK. We also welcome applications from LGB and Trans and non-binary candidates.
We have made a positive commitment to employing disabled people and guarantee to interview all disabled candidates who meet the minimum essential criteria for the role as set out in the role profile.
