The IKEA Foundation vision is a better everyday life for the many people. We believe the two greatest threats to the future of children are climate change and poverty.  We believe it is possible to help families to afford a better life while also protecting the planet. It’s our mission to improve the lives of vulnerable children by enabling their families to create sustainable livelihoods, and fight and cope with climate change.

The IKEA Foundation is funded by INGKA Foundation, owner of the Ingka Group of companies. The IKEA Foundation is independent from the retail business with a sole focus on creating brighter lives on a liveable planet through philanthropy and grant making.

The IKEA Foundation is now seeking an experienced Monitoring, Learning and Evaluation Manager, to join our small but experienced MLE team, to support primarily our Climate Action portfolio (as well as the broader portfolio areas across Renewable Energy, Agricultural Livelihoods, Employment & Entrepeneurship, Refugee Livelihoods and Special Initiatives). As an MLE Manager working in Climate Action, and across portfolios, you will work closely with colleagues to make available and understandable to partners the existing evidence base to order to identify the level of uncertainty in achieving impact, appropriate key performance indicators, and evaluation questions to be answered.

Reporting to the Head of MLE, you will contribute to the further development of the IKEA Foundation, being an active member in strategic and operational discussions.

We are seeking an individual with significant experience in implementing grant-level monitoring, learning and evaluation, ideally in a related field including climate action, and designing and managing M&E systems for policy and advocacy interventions. You will bring previous experience in managing complex assignments, conducting independent evaluations and rolling up sleeves to execute assignments. The successful candidate will be a strategic and analytical thinker, with a strong goal orientation and creative problem-solving abilities. S/he will be able to speak to expert and non-expert audiences, while refraining from jargon and frame complex issues in clear and simple language. S/he will be curious, initiative-rich, decisive, result oriented and a team player.  Most importantly, the successful individual will demonstrate a strong commitment to the vision, mission and values of the IKEA Foundation.

To apply or to download further information on the required qualifications, skills and experience for the role, please visit quoting reference 5171. The closing date for applications is 5pm CET, Friday 11th June.

By joining the IKEA Foundation, you will join a global team that values diversity and creativity. You will be able to contribute to constantly improving the grant-making experience at the IKEA Foundation. In doing so, you will have the opportunity to work with innovative solutions and you will be challenged to come up with ideas for improvements in all areas. The better we can support our co-workers and partners, the more time and energy they can spend on the causes that we support!

This full-time (38 hours) position will be based in Leiden, The Netherlands, and the salary will be competitive with market rate.
