UTS’s vision is to be a leading public university of technology recognised for our global impact. Our purpose is to advance knowledge and learning through research-inspired teaching, research with impact and partnerships with industry, the professions and community. With a total enrolment of over 44,000 students, UTS is one of the largest universities in Australia and we are consistently ranked as one of the top young universities in the country.

Our Faculty of Health offers innovative, practice-based education and high impact research that focuses on improving health outcomes in both local and global communities.  A long-standing partner of the health professions, we deliver research with impact that informs policy and improves practice both in Australia and overseas. Ranked 1st in Australia and 11th in the world for Nursing and Midwifery (QS World Rankings), the Faculty of Health has interdisciplinary research expertise across a broad range of areas. Our teaching and learning is centred on our unique learning futures framework, which encourages an active learning approach and results in Graduate Attributes that are highly sought after by employers.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Faculty in the next stage of its development, playing a critical role in expanding the interdisciplinary connections across the Faculty and beyond, as well as developing a curriculum and student experience that is aligned to the needs of the health workforce of the future. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be expected to bring a strong personal commitment and reputation in both research and education, as well as the ability to facilitate meaningful and impactful forms of collaboration with health industry partners. Reporting directly to the Provost and supported by the Faculty leadership team, the Dean will be an effective communicator, working closely with staff, students and external stakeholders to drive the performance of the Faculty and align it with the vision and goals of UTS.
