The University of Westminster has a long and distinctive history. The University now seeks a Head for its School of Organisations, Economy and Society. With over 65 full-time staff, approximately 20 industry practitioners and consultants, and over 1500 students, this is one of the largest of the four Schools that make up Westminster Business School (WBS). Distinctive and globally-connected, WBS is based in the heart of London’s political, media and financial services and is widely recognised as a provider of choice for applied and professionally-accredited management education. Multi-disciplinary and with a growing portfolio of courses, the School of Organisations, Economy and Society provides a transformative platform for students from a wide range of backgrounds to become enterprising, socially aware, and resilient professionals in business, community organisations or in the public sector. It enjoys strong links with the professions and relevant public bodies and employers, and its faculty are actively engaged in research and the development of public policy through its internationally acclaimed Centre for Employment Research.

A key member of the WBS Executive Group, the postholder will be required to bring strong and visionary leadership to this diverse and dynamic School as well as contribute to the management and strategic development of WBS more broadly, to realise the University’s strategic objectives. A reputable and inspiring leader with research credibility, the new Head of School will be focused on leading change by championing a strong and bold vision. They will be required to drive quality in teaching and learning, continue the innovation in, and expansion of, market leading programmes, and deliver enhanced income and impact from research and knowledge exchange activity. A skilled communicator, with exceptional people and management skills, they will bring a track record in successful resource planning and implementation. Prospective candidates should demonstrate the ability to think and act strategically; engage and motivate staff; and will possess a high level of analytical and administrative ability. Critically, they will evidence a passion for the School and align with the values and mission of the institution.
