1.1 billion people are needlessly living with poor vision because they do not have access to basic eye care services. For the majority their vision issues could be solved by a pair of glasses. For those without access, it means that they lose out on education because they can’t see well to read, they can’t get a job, or they find it difficult to participate in day-to-day activities.
A new alliance is being established to end this injustice and as a result help reduce poverty, deliver quality education, decent work, and gender equality.
Leading cross-sector actors have united to form the Clear Vision Alliance; committed to working together towards the same goal of solving this problem by 2050.
We are now seeking an ambitious and engaging leader, with a collaborative approach and genuine partnership mentality, and the energy and dynamism to drive forward the development of the Alliance as its first Executive Director.
A new global Alliance, founded in 2021, our members include NGOs, social enterprises, and private sector organisations, working together to develop solutions and scale services to provide access to glasses, and sustainable and permanent services to everyone who needs them.
Our new Executive Director will lead the creation of the Clear Vision Alliance and will ensure its vibrancy and sustainability. You will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders toward a common goal of eliminating uncorrected refractive error by 2050 through the development of a compelling strategic plan, building consensus, and catalyzing collaboration.
You will be a collaborative and dynamic leader, able to inspire action and change. You will bring experience of engaging in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, a track record of business development, excellent communication skills, as well as significant experience working globally.
Do you have what it takes to lead the alliance and sector to generate impact for the 1.1 billion people with poor vision globally?
To apply, please submit a CV and covering letter, detailing how you fulfil the role description and personal specification quoting reference 5210. The deadline for applications is 9:00am BST Monday 2nd August 2021.
