Monash is undertaking a global search for the next Dean of its Faculty of Arts to build upon the very successful deanship of Professor Sharon Pickering who was recently appointed as Monash’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) and Senior Vice-President. We are seeking an outstanding individual, capable of continuing the stellar performance and trajectory of the Faculty.

One of the most diverse arts faculties in Australia, the Faculty of Arts delivers programs via five schools and across the Clayton and Caulfield campuses, as well as a school in Malaysia and a number of faculty and school-based flagship centres and research centres offshore. With a focus on understanding and improving the human condition, the Faculty of Arts encourages the development of innovative studies that operate at the intersection of traditional academic disciplines.

The successful candidate will bring a strong personal commitment and reputation for excellence in research and education, as well as the ability to facilitate meaningful and impactful forms of collaboration across the University and beyond. Potential candidates will have a national profile and international reputation, and a strong managerial capacity evidenced by successful leadership in a research-intensive university.
