The Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult (CGT Catapult) is an internationally recognised success story in the field of innovation. Funded by industry and by Innovate UK, the UK Government’s industrial innovation agency, our vision is to build a thriving industry delivering life changing advanced therapies to the world.
We deliver by creating powerful collaborations which overcome challenges to the advancement of the sector. As a result of high demand for our outputs we have grown rapidly to a team of over 400 experts covering all aspects of advanced therapies. Applying our own unique capabilities and assets, we collaborate with academia, industry and healthcare to develop new technology and innovation.
Our outputs leverage research, transform barriers into industrial advantage, and attract investment for our collaborators. We help people acquire new skills, organisations establish new capabilities and policy makers develop new perspectives.
Since the inception of the CGT Catapult the UK has become home to the largest cell and gene therapy industrial cluster outside of the USA.
The CGT Catapult is led by an experienced executive team drawn from industry. After nearly ten years, the founding non-executive Chair, Dr John Brown CBE, will be retiring from this position at the end of this year. We are looking for a new Chair who is an enthusiastic supporter of the Catapult model to lead the governance of this fast-paced organisation as it builds on its success and moves to the next stage of development. The successful candidate will have good experience at board level and a background in a relevant industry, alive to emerging industry trends.
The time commitment is approximately 4 days per month and the role is remunerated at £40,000 per annum.
CGT Catapult has engaged Perrett Laver to support the Selection Committee in this appointment. For informal enquiries about the role please contact Perrett Laver on email@example.com.
The deadline for applications is midday GMT on Monday 1st November.
All job applicants will be treated in a fair and consistent manner and in particular to avoid discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, disability, religion, sexual orientation or age.
Perrett Laver believes that excellence will be achieved through recognising the value of every individual. A broad range of perspectives, backgrounds and opinions amongst our global community of colleagues is crucial in maintaining our culture of openness, intellectual curiosity, and creativity. We take an active role in supporting under-represented communities and groups in becoming better and more fairly represented in the leadership of all organisations. We also know that diverse and inclusive teams have a positive impact on our ability to identify, engage and secure candidates from these groups.
Our commitment to inclusion across race, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, identity, and experience drives us every day – for clients, for candidate identification and in the recruitment, development and retention of colleagues.
To ensure inclusion on the basis of age, disability, ethnic or national origin, family circumstance, gender, gender identity, marital status, nationality, political or religious beliefs, race, socioeconomic background, sexual orientation, we would like to specifically invite applications from under-represented groups.
