The Python Software Foundation (PSF) is searching for a new Executive Director. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a growing foundation, which supports one of the most popular programming languages in the world.
The PSF is the 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that holds the intellectual property rights behind the Python programming language. Its mission is to promote, protect, and advance the Python programming language, and to support and facilitate the growth of a diverse and international community of Python programmers. The PSF produces the annual PyCon US conference, supports other conferences and workshops around the world, supports CPython and the Python packaging ecosystem, and funds Python related development with our grants program.
The Executive Director leads all of the organization’s activities and manages its excellent staff, promoting the success of the Foundation’s mission as well as ensuring its long-term health. The Executive Director plays a crucial role in the development and execution of the PSF’s programs and initiatives that fall within the mission of the PSF. The Executive Director works closely with the PSF Board of Directors as well as the Python Steering Council and broader community. The next Executive Director will combine strong leadership and communication skills with a passion for the PSF’s mission and will set fundraising strategy and key sustainability efforts which will enable future growth.
