The Global CCS Institute is an international think tank whose mission is to accelerate the deployment of carbon capture and storage (CCS), a vital technology to tackle climate change and deliver climate neutrality. With a team of professionals working with and on behalf of their Members, they drive the adoption of CCS as quickly and cost-effectively as possible by sharing expertise, building capacity, and providing advice and support so that this technology can play its part in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Their diverse international membership includes governments, global corporations, private companies, research bodies, and non-governmental organisations; all of whom are committed to CCS as an integral part of a net-zero emissions future.

Global CCS Institute is seeking a Senior Adviser for EU and International Climate Change Policy, who will be the Institute lead for providing advice on and facilitating the development of fit-for-purpose advocacy efforts and initiatives within the UNFCCC and the EU organisations in particular. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious and results-oriented individual to support the Institute’s mission to accelerate the deployment of CCS globally. They will be the recognised face and voice of CCS in climate policy circles and will report directly into the General Manager Advocacy and Communications.

The ideal candidate will bring strong networks and individual contacts at a very senior level in relevant institutions, national government delegations, associations, and NGOs. Equipped with the technical know-how in the climate sector and experience of successfully working in a global matrixed organisation, they will be a self-starter, as well as a natural networker and collaborator. Moreover, the successful candidate will have highly developed interpersonal skills and excellent English communications skills.
