We strive for a just world that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.

At Plan International we have set ourselves an ambitious goal to transform the lives of 100 million girls over five years. We are working with local communities in more than 50 countries to ensure all children enjoy the rights to which they are entitled. Given that girls are often the most vulnerable, we place a special focus on tackling the challenges they face – such as ending child marriage, keeping them in school and helping them to speak up for themselves. To transform lives, cultures and societies, we need to be a dynamic and agile organisation that can deliver real change. Our five-year Global Strategy challenges us to transform how we work.

The Director of Accounting Services will transform our organisational capacity in financial control, compliance and customer service providing critical support to Plan’s financial governance and transparency and ensuring the successful delivery of Plan’s vision and strategy. This is an opportunity for a strategic thought leader with strong operational leadership and management skills to lead on transforming all aspects of financial accounting, statutory reporting and customer service for c.€1billion global organisation across 80 countries. Reporting to the Executive Director of Finance and IT and serving as a trusted adviser to the CEO and senior colleagues, this role is responsible for ensuring Plan’s financial sustainability, mitigating and minimising financial risks and ensuring Plan is compliant with regulatory requirements, as well as building a proactive, customer service culture. A strong business partnering approach is critical to enable this.

Plan International wishes to encourage applications from professional leaders with a breadth of financial experience within global corporations, INGOs (ideally humanitarian and development), or non-profit sectors and audit practice, ideally with experience working in multiple countries.
