The United Westminster and Grey Coat Foundation is a leading educational charity responsible for three independent schools and two single academy trusts. This diversity is a strength of the Foundation, and each school operates under delegated governance and leadership of Governing Bodies and dynamic Heads.
The Foundation seeks an experienced Director of Governance and Operations to provide high quality and effective Governance support, advice and clerking to the Board together with its committees, and to the Governing Bodies across the Foundation. In addition, they will lead the Foundation Office and will bring leadership and coordination to Foundation-wide operations, designed to deliver mutual benefit across the schools and support the schools in the provision of public benefit. These operations include the implementation of the initiatives developed by the newly formed Partnership and Professional Development committees of the Foundation in liaison with the five schools.
The successful candidate will be an experienced professional with a track record of success of leading and advising within educational establishments, not-for-profit environments connected to education and/or in a complex political environment. They will be a highly collaborative strategic thinker, with the capacity to see Governance and operational initiatives through from inception to delivery and will have the ability to seek out and identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency across the Foundation. A working knowledge of best practice in educational Governance is essential, as is the ability to communicate and build effective relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders and leaders.
