Established in 1883, Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) is a leading university offering the highest quality specialist education, research and scholarship in art, design, architecture, media and performance subjects. With a national and international reputation, we are passionate about the creative subjects we teach, and continue to encourage curiosity, risk-taking and adventure in exploring and pushing subject knowledge and its boundaries.

AUB is a truly innovative place: set in a beautifully designed, studio-based location underpinned by a deep digital infrastructure, it is a creative community of ideas, images, events and magical moments, nurtured by inspirational people, unified by a powerful sense of belonging. We were awarded ‘Gold’ status in the ‘Teaching Excellence Framework’ assessment, and with over 4,000 students based on one eleven-acre campus, we place great importance on student involvement and collaboration. In 2020 AUB moved into the top 20 UK universities as measured by the National Student Survey, and in the Complete University Guide 2021 it rose 17 places into 48th position as a Top 50 UK university. AUB was named UK’s top specialist art and design university in The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021 and ranked in the top 5 UK universities for Teaching Quality and Student Experience.

AUB are now seeking a new Provost to deliver the University’s academic objectives as identified in the AUB 2030 Strategy.
