The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) is the membership body for paediatricians in the UK and around the world. Founded in 1996, we play a major role in postgraduate medical education, professional standards, research and policy. The College has over 20,000 members and fellows, both in the UK and internationally, and employs around 170 staff across the UK. We exist to transform child health through knowledge, innovation and expertise, and to create a healthier future for children and young people across the world.

We are now looking to appoint a new Director of Corporate Services. A member of the Senior Management Team you will work closely with the CEO and the Board of Trustees, facilitating greater engagement with our membership, improving outreach and generating new income, which will allow us to move forward with innovation that will ultimately benefit children and young people in the UK and internationally, and will ensure a sustainable future for the charity.

In September, the College embarked upon a new three-year strategy, which has a clear focus on diversifying income streams and leveraging all resources at our disposal, including our digital assets and estate. You will help us challenge what we know and identify cost savings, efficiencies and new revenue streams to allow us to continue to deliver outstanding service to our stakeholders. You will help guide the business of the College, managing resource and governance, and enabling us to offer the best possible services to children and young people.

You will facilitate better cross working of teams, review and develop robust commercial negotiations, procurement policies and contractual arrangements to ensure best value for money. You will form strong collaborations across the organisation to ensure a high level of service and effective and robust processes. You will be a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, excellent experience of working and communicating with a dispersed community of members and staff, and a demonstrable track record of effective organisational leadership, innovation and good judgement.

RCPCH wants to represent all the communities we serve. Appointment will be made solely on merit. The College is particularly keen to receive applications from Black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates, and/or candidates with a disability who are currently under-represented at this level of the organisation.
