The Norfolk Cricket Board (NCB) is Recruiting New Board Members

The Norfolk Cricket Board is responsible for developing recreational cricket in the county. We are proud of what we have achieved in recent years, particularly with our work in schools, the success of our county youth teams, the quality of our cricket workforce and our efforts to grow the game, particularly for women and girls.

To help us achieve our ambitions we are recruiting non-executive directors. The priority for recruiting new Board members is to appoint people who have the passion, skills and experience to meet the needs of existing cricket communities whilst also creating a diverse environment to bring new people towards the game.

Whilst not a minimum requirement for applications, the Board would be particularly interested to hear from individuals who have passion, skills or experience relating to:

·         Increasing women’s and girls’ participation;

·         Working with or within diverse communities.

We have recently adopted a County Plan that, as well as recognising the importance of our traditional activities, has these priorities:

·         Transform Women & Girls Cricket;

·         Retain and Increase Participation;

·         Grow the Cricket Workforce;

·         Optimise Club Support;

·         Engage Children & Young People;

·         Develop opportunities for cricket in Norwich.

As an organisation the Board aims to be effective, open and accountable in the way it operates and to achieve the highest standards. It is not a requirement that you are already involved in cricket although a demonstrable desire to grow the game in line with our County Plan is essential.

Time commitment - 8 to 10 days per year

The Board of Directors currently meet quarterly and an annual away day. In addition, we have a small number of committees and there is also a limited amount of work between meetings.

The closing date for applications is 9:00am (GMT) on Monday 7th February 2022. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to informal conversations with the Chair on Friday 18th February, and formal interviews on Monday 21st February 2022.
