It is exciting times for football in Worcestershire as we have just taken ownership of our own purpose-built Headquarters in Worcester. This development has a building with offices and training rooms together with changing rooms and a hospitality room, a full-size grass pitch and a full size 3G, both with floodlights.
Worcestershire Football Association (WFA) has more than 800 teams playing football in Worcestershire. The WFA 2021-2024 Strategy outlines our strategic direction to create a united grassroots football environment which delivers football opportunity for all.
One of the strategic objectives is to ensure our corporate governance structure is operating effectively and efficiently and we are seeking to recruit Independent Non-Executive Directors to support us in achieving that objective.
Whether you are a life-long football enthusiast, player, a volunteer, a coach or a corporate professional looking to volunteer your expertise, we are committed to creating a Board of diverse skills, experience and backgrounds that can add value to the game.
We are looking in particular for applicants with expertise in Legal and Commercial Development/Marketing. Additionally, we welcome expertise in Human Resources.

This is a volunteer role in which you will be expected to attend Board meetings 6 times per year and to collaborate with Board Directors and other stakeholders in the strategic development of the organisation.
How to apply
An executive search exercise is being undertaken by Perrett Laver for this post. Perrett Laver will support the Interview Panel in the discharge of its duties, both to assist in the assessment of candidates against the requirements of the role and to identify the widest possible field of qualified candidates.
Application is by submission of a full curriculum vitae and a covering letter of application, addressing the job description and person specification and including suitable daytime and evening telephone contact details, and two named referees/references with contact information. The deadline for applications is 9:00am (GMT) on Monday 24th January 2022. Applications received after this time will only be considered in exceptional circumstances.

The decision to progress your application to the next stage of the selection process will be based only on the information you provide in your application. The Recruitment Panel are responsible for recording their reasons for the candidates selected for shortlist.
The Selection Panel will be meeting in w/c 7th February 2022 to agree a shortlist of candidates to be invited forward to interview. Interviews will be held in w/c 21st February 2022. For roles that are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, the successful candidate will be subject to a DBS check. Therefore, all candidates will need to bring evidence of their identity with them to the interview.
