It is in this exciting and evolving context that we are seeking to appoint a Head of Business Engagement and Partnerships who will develop and deliver a strategy that will drive collaboration regionally, nationally and internationally and particularly with industry and in opportunity areas. A senior leader within Research and Innovation Services, the post holder will work across the University with academic staff and senior University leaders, as well as external funders and agencies, to drive economic and social change through collaboration, partnership working and the development of major initiatives.

Candidates will demonstrate an understanding of the UK research and innovation context, including research and innovation infrastructures and frameworks, government strategies and policies, as well as experience of working at the interface of Higher Education and relevant sectors to establish successful partnership working. An entrepreneurial leader, the successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills that engender trust and followership from multiple stakeholders, as well as the operational capability to deliver beneficial and significant outcomes.

An executive search exercise is being undertaken by Perrett Laver in parallel with the public advertisement of the post. Perrett Laver will support the interview panel in the discharge of its duties, both to assist in the assessment of candidates against the requirements for the role and to identify the widest possible field of qualified candidates.
