Bradfield College has inspired generations of young people to make a difference to the world since 1850. Set in a stunning rural Berkshire location with state-of the-art facilities, including an iconic Greek theatre, Bradfield provides an outstanding day and boarding education to circa 825 pupils aged 13 to 18, of whom approximately 90% are boarders. The College enjoys a well-established reputation for being one of the UK’s leading co-educational independent schools where pupils develop as well-rounded, independent young adults within an atmosphere of empathy and tolerance.
Following a recent merger with St Andrew's School Pangbourne which has circa 300 pupils, and the creation of the Bradfield Group, the Head of College and the Governors are seeking an experienced Group Finance Director to lead strategic and operational finance across the group, and to take a key leadership role in helping to position the Bradfield Group for the future. The successful candidate will be a commercially minded and entrepreneurial finance professional, capable of ensuring the Group’s finances, investments and financial systems can both support and anticipate its educational ambitions. Building on the existing strong platform and reporting to the Head of Bradfield College, Dr Chris Stevens, the appointee will be a qualified accountant and an accomplished strategic business planner. They will have excellent communication skills and proven experience in managing a high-performing finance team, and the intellectual abilities and sensitivity to command the respect of staff, students, parents, governors and external stakeholders. A resonance with the distinguished academic history and inclusive mission of Bradfield College is essential.
Bradfield College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and the Council of Governors expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post.
