Ensuring the ability of Earth to nurture life in all its diversity.

The crises our planet is facing are urgent and existential. Greenpeace aims to create a green and peaceful world through fundamental systems change: changing mindsets and changing power dynamics to address the climate and biodiversity crises.

To achieve this vision, Greenpeace International (GPI) is seeking a new Chief of Staff to provide strategic guidance and cross-cutting organisational support and leadership. As a member of the Strategic Management Team, the Chief of Staff plays a key strategic role to help the International Executive Director (IED) in shaping and managing top priorities for Greenpeace International. The Chief of Staff is a strategist, consultant, and implementer, supporting the IED in both external and strategic work and providing oversight and management on internal organisational priorities.

Our new Chief of Staff will be a dynamic, highly strategic organisational leader with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders across the Greenpeace network and externally. They will bring a proven ability to think strategically about complex challenges and create and execute plans to and deliver against strategic imperatives. They should also bring a proven track record of relationship-building and a strong understanding of climate and biodiversity issues. Moreover, the individual’s values and mission must align with Greenpeace International.

The world needs a new story – a story in which humanity overcomes seemingly impossible odds to not only survive, but to thrive. To apply for the role and be a part of that story, please submit a CV and covering letter, detailing how you fulfil the role description and personal specification to https://candidates.perrettlaver.com/vacancies/ quoting reference 5579. The deadline for applications is 9.00 am (CET time) on Wednesday 9th February 2022.

The successful candidate may be based in a country where one of the independent National/Regional Greenpeace organisations (NRO’s) is located (subject to agreement). See the locations here. We offer competitive NGO level salary and benefits, the specifics of which depend on location where the successful candidates will be based. We aim to share this information with successful candidates before reaching the offer stage.
