Advancing the transition towards climate neutrality in Germany, Europe and the world with cutting edge analysis and impactful policy strategies
Agora Energiewende is a mission-driven non-partisan think tank, independent of government and business interests, looking to build a bridge between research and political decision-making. Our exclusive mission is to serve the goal of climate neutrality. Since its founding in 2012, Agora has become a leading think tank for climate and energy policy at the German, European and International level, now with over 100 committed staff around the world. Climate neutrality calls for fast and profound reforms in all sectors of the economy; consequently, our work addresses the entire range of necessary transformations.
Following the recent appointment of our previous Executive Director as State Secretary at the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Agora is now seeking a new outstanding Executive Director. Jointly with the Managing Director, the new Executive Director will be responsible for the strategic leadership of the organization, working with the Supervisory Board and the senior management team. The Executive Director will further develop Agora by increasing its impact and engaging with policy-makers, academia and other stakeholders as its primary representative.
The Executive Director will be a visionary and strategic mind, with a proven track record of successful leadership. She/he will offer a strong understanding of energy and climate policy, a global outlook, experience of working internationally, and will have built impactful partnerships across sectors and stakeholders. The successful candidate will follow an inspirational, adaptive and empowering approach to lead our diverse team of high-calibre experts, will have excellent English and German communications skills, and most of all, show clear commitment to our mission.
To apply, please submit a CV and covering letter, detailing how you fulfil the role description and personal specification quoting reference 5580. The deadline for applications is 9am CET Monday 7th February.

We want an energy transition for everyone from everyone. Therefore, we are particularly pleased to receive applications from people from groups that have been underrepresented in energy policy.
