Liverpool John Moores University was founded in 1823 to provide the citizens of the city with educational opportunities to raise aspiration and achievement.

Nearly 200 years later, and true to those founding principles, the university is now one of the largest in the UK with over 27,000 students and 2,500 staff and a vision to transform lives and futures by placing students at the heart of everything we do.

The university is a large and complex organisation with a governance structure providing oversight and assurance for the strategy and underpinning plans driving the institution forward.

We are seeking three new Governors to join our Board with experience and professional expertise under specific themes: higher education, finance and entrepreneurship.

As we assemble around a new strategic plan from 2023, the year of our bicentenary, our Board of Governors will play a significant role ensuring the delivery of the plans and objectives outlined in our strategic direction.

If you can bring fresh ideas and can advocate with passion about higher education, finance or entrepreneurship then we want to hear from you.

This is an unpaid position but with appropriate expenses reimbursed. The anticipated time  commitment is approximately 10-14 days per year.

The university is committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and welcomes applications from a broad range of individuals, particularly those from backgrounds that are currently underrepresented on our Board, including female, minority ethnic, and disabled candidates.

How to Apply

The University has appointed Perrett Laver to support the Selection Committee in the search and recruitment of three Governors.
