The IKEA Foundation is a strategic philanthropic organisation that focuses its grantmaking efforts on tackling the two biggest threats to childrens' futures: poverty and climate change. It currently grants more than €200 million per year to help improve family incomes and protect the planet from climate change. Since 2009, the IKEA Foundation has granted more than €1.6 billion to create a better future for children and their families.

The IKEA Foundation is seeking an experienced Programme Manager with expertise in entrepreneurship, business, economics, sustainable development, and/or international development in order to strengthen its Employment and Entrepreneurship portfolio. Together with the team, the Programme Manager gives interpretation around the newly formed Employment and Entrepreneurship Portfolio strategy, which focuses on improving employment opportunities and incomes through entrepreneurship that address environmental problems in East Africa and South Asia. The aim is to spend available funding as responsibly and effectively as possible and to contribute optimally to the mission and vision of the IKEA Foundation.

As Programme Manager, you will be part of a small but enthusiastic team of people that is committed to make a difference. You will report to the Head of Portfolio. The position is 38 hours, based at the Foundation’s office in Leiden, the Netherlands.

We are seeking an individual with a proven track record in the area of employment generation and/or entrepreneurship. This experience could have been acquired in grantmaking organisations, international development agencies, corporate sector or management advisory. The individual should also have an affinity with the broader themes of the IKEA Foundation. Most importantly, the successful individual will demonstrate a strong commitment to the vision, mission and values of the IKEA Foundation.
