Staffordshire Cricket Is Looking to Appoint A New Independent Non-Executive Director

Staffordshire Cricket is one of 39 County Cricket Boards in England and Wales whose role it is to lead, inspire, influence and support the growth, quality and accessibility of cricket in Staffordshire. Our vision is to ensure that cricket is more accessible, exciting and fulfilling to more people in the Staffordshire region. We oversee a large, demographically diverse county with 100 affiliated bodies and across a broad range of cricket activity with the aim to embed the sport within our local communities.

With strong foundations to broaden cricket’s loyal basis, we seek to appoint a new Non-Executive Director (NED) with a track record of leadership in marketing and communications, who shares our ambition to create a more representative and inclusive support and help us to realise our goals. 

While each NED will bring a specific skillset and specialism to the board, all of our NEDs contribute across a wide range of topics to benefit from a diverse range of perspectives and support a collegial and inclusive culture. We recognise the enhanced creativity, performance and legitimacy of an organisation that is more representative and are actively striving to realise these benefits at Board and beyond.

Prior board experience is not required, and we will keenly look to support and develop new members with the ambition, talent and commitment to enable us in our goals.

Time Commitment

Circa 12 to 15 days per year inclusive of board meetings, meeting preparations, plus some engagements and other inputs as required.

Term of Office

Four-year term with the ability to serve up to two terms.

Remuneration

Positions are voluntary with reasonable expenses covered.

The initial recruitment process is being handled by Perrett Laver, who will then present candidates to Club officials for interview by a Nominations Committee in w/c 8th August 2022, to ensure that they understand the fiduciary duties of being a Director and have an opportunity to explain the particular skills and experience they could bring to the Board.
