The Professional Cricketers’ Association (PCA) has been the representative body of past and present first-class cricketers in England and Wales since it was founded in 1967. With a total membership of over 3,500 cricketers past and present across the men’s and women’s games, we act as the collective and representative voice of all male and female professional cricketers in England and Wales, including the men’s and women’s international sides, and seek to champion their best interests as our sport evolves. We support the game of cricket and safeguard the futures of its players.

We are now seeking to appoint three Independent Non-Executive Directors to join our Board and help us support the game of cricket and safeguard the futures of its players. We are particularly keen to hear from those individuals who are experienced in one or more of the following areas:

  • PR, Communications and Marketing
  • Mental health, wellbeing and personal development
  • Finance

The successful candidates will bring to bear a collaborative leadership style with the creativity, resourcefulness and expertise to help us in achieving our goals. Unafraid to challenge the status quo, you will encourage new ways of thinking and facilitate robust dialogue to support. You will be adept at operating within a complex stakeholder landscape and have strong appreciation for the role of contemporary governance and the responsibilities of non-executive directors. Teamworking and a collegiate approach will be critical to success in the role. While experience in cricket may not be essential, a passion and dedication to supporting our vision and ambitions for the sport and its players will be.

The PCA is committed to ensuring an inclusive environment, free from discrimination both within our organisation and for the professional cricketers we serve. We recognise the enhanced creativity, performance and legitimacy of an organisation that is more representative and are actively striving to realise this at board level and beyond. Prior board experience is not necessary, and we will keenly look to support and develop new members with the ambition, talent and commitment to enable us in our goals.

Term: 3 year term with potential for a further 2 x 3 year terms upon re-election.

Time Commitment: 10-12 days per year, inclusive of four board meetings per year.

Location: The Bedser Stand, Kia Oval, London.

Remuneration: £10k broken into £6k fee and £1k per board meeting attendance (x4) per year.

The PCA will be assisted in these appointmenta by global executive search firm Perrett Laver. Further details on how to apply may be found outlined below.
