Berkshire Cricket Foundation exists to lead, support and influence the growth, quality and accessibility of recreational and performance cricket within Berkshire. Our aim is to ensure that everyone in the region has opportunities to access cricket and physical activity in a form and location that is accessible and meaningful for them.
We want to grow and strengthen the game, support our local communities and inspire the county we serve. To help us achieve our ambitions, Berkshire Cricket Foundation seeks to recruit a new Chair to lead the organisation as it embarks on its next phase of development opening an exciting opportunity for an experienced and innovative leader to drive progress forward as BCF continues to grow, develop and broaden its scope. The successful candidate will share our values and commitment with skills required to help drive forward our vision and reach our 2020-2024 strategic goals and beyond.
With a strategic and collaborative leadership style, they will work closely with the CEO and executive team and will engage with key partners such as the ECB and other external stakeholders, as well as to cultivate new relationships and partnership opportunities both within and outside the sport. They will demonstrate an inclusive leadership style and offer constructive challenge and balanced judgement. While an understanding and appreciation of cricket is desirable, a willingness to get to know the sport and a commitment to enable our vision will be critical.
Berkshire Cricket Foundation recognises and encourages the benefits of greater board diversity and an inclusive culture. An average time commitment of 2 to 3 days per month is expected, inclusive of four board meetings, an induction training event, annual development day, meeting preparations, plus some engagements and other inputs required.
Terms of Office
Two three-year period with an option of extending for a further three years, subject to agreement (not exceeding nine years in total).

The initial recruitment process is being handled by Perrett Laver, who will then present candidates to the Foundation for interview by a Nominations Committee in w/c 5th September 2022, to ensure that they understand the fiduciary duties of being a Director and have an opportunity to explain the particular skills and experience they could bring to the Board.
