British School Jakarta (BSJ) is an international school with a distinctive British heritage, providing outstanding education for 1,200 students aged 3-18. One of the leading international schools in South East Asia, BSJ is a vibrant global community, welcoming students and families from over 45 different nationalities.

Under the leadership of David Butcher who was been the Principal since August 2018, the School has embarked on an important new phase in its development. In the rapidly changing world of international education, BSJ aspires to be a pioneering school setting new standards and recognised as a sector leader. The strategic aim is to be a school for ‘today and tomorrow’ and a series of unique partnerships with MIT, 8billionideas, Manchester City Football School and others are already expanding BSJ’s sphere of influence, and in turn enriching the educational experience of its students.

This is an exciting time to join the BSJ community and the next Head of Secondary will play a critical role in helping the School to realise its goals. BSJ embarked on a new strategic plan in 2021, including a new Mission, Vision and Values. The appointed candidate will make a powerful contribution to this as a member of the School’s Board of Executives. They will also play a leading role in embedding the MYP, constructing an exciting capital development plan post pandemic to match the Mission, Vision and Values, and continuing the development of partnerships which will position BSJ at the forefront of international education. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of a school with a clear upward trajectory with bold ambitions for its future. For individuals aspiring to Principalship, this post offers an excellent opportunity to develop as a leader in a high performing, dynamic international setting.
