Sussex Cricket Foundation (SCF) is the charitable arm for the oldest first-class county club in England and Wales. We play an integral role in the community by delivering on our aim to actively change lives through cricket and promoting the sport for social good within the county.

SCF is looking for two new Trustees to join us at this exciting and crucial time in our growth, as well as the world of cricket. SCF Trustees play a central role in:

  • Developing and delivering accessible and enjoyable opportunities that grow the sport;
  • Tackling inequalities;
  • Improving health and wellbeing; and,
  • Empowering people from all walks of life to fulfil their potential.

Cricket in Sussex has bucked the national trend and is successfully growing, with a marked uptake of the game amongst women, and provisions in place for disabled people through our Disability Hubs. We hope to build on the promising foundations in place to deliver accessible and enjoyable opportunities for all, and our Trustees are integral to this.

SCF is seeking collaborative individuals with a demonstrable enthusiasm for inspiring passion and engagement for cricket in an inclusive manner across the community. Our future Trustees will have experience of working with community engagement programmes, a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusivity, as well as an ability to inspire and motivate others.

SCF recognises the benefits of greater diversity across all levels of our governance, and we are committed to ensuring an inclusive culture and environment. SCF welcomes and encourages applicants from all backgrounds, particularly women, members of underrepresented ethnic communities, those from LGBTQ+ communities, as well as people with disabilities.

Previous experience as a Trustee is not essential, and SCF will keenly look to support and develop new members with the ambition, dedication, and talent to enable us to deliver on our mission. Experience in cricket is also not necessary, although a willingness to get to know the sport and a commitment to enable SCF’s vision is.
