UNSW Sydney is one of the world’s leading research and teaching-intensive universities, known for innovative, pioneering research and high-quality education with a global impact. Since its foundation in 1949, it has aimed to improve and transform lives through excellence in research, outstanding education and a commitment to advancing a just society. With partners across every continent, delivering its mission on the global stage is central to UNSW’s ambition and underpins all of its programs and activities.

UNSW has now embarked upon a global search for the Vice-President/Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global). This is a new position that reports to the University’s Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Attila Brungs. The Vice-President/Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global) is responsible for developing and implementing the University's global engagement and internationalisation strategy, ensuring UNSW retains its position as Australia’s Global University. The role is tasked with establishing new and developing existing international links to maximise UNSW’s contributions across the world and to promote the reputation of the University for contributing to education, research and service to society.

The successful candidate will be a recognised leader on the global stage, with the skills of diplomacy and political nous to manage the position’s multiple roles. With either a professional or academic leadership background, they will demonstrate experience in facilitating the execution of an international agenda in a similarly complex environment, a partnership approach to the achievement of international outcomes, and the entrepreneurial spirit necessary to drive a commercial strategy setting. Most importantly, they will bring the ability to inspire and influence a varied group of stakeholders, from global academics, students, and alumni, to government officials and captains of industry.
