The CUHK Business School is a leading business school and a pioneer in business education in Hong Kong. Since its establishment in Hong Kong in 1963, the CUHK Business School has gained world recognition of nurturing business leaders with immense contributions in Asia Pacific. The School has been offering a comprehensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes (DBA, MBA, MSc, MAcc, EMBA, MPhil, PhD) with over 4,600 students, as well as executive education. It has one of the most extensive alumni networks in the region, with over 40,000 alumni around the world.

 

Among all the Master’s programmes offered by the School, the full-time MBA is a highly selective programme and is ranked globally. The students are an internationally diverse group of highly motivated professionals. The part-time MBA programme caters to the needs of working professionals in Hong Kong and southern part of China whose needs are centred on leadership development.

 

The CUHK Business School now seeks to appoint a high calibre candidate to the position of Administrative Director in the Office of MBA Programmes.  Reporting to the Associate Dean (MBA Programmes) and Director of MBA Programmes, the Administrative Director’s main duties include:

  • assist in developing, managing and implementing strategic plans of the MBA programmes,
  • coordinate and synergise the functional teams of support staff of the MBA programmes for overall success of MBA brand enhancement, student recruitment, students’ experience, whole-person and career development, and other stakeholder management,
  • facilitate staff engagement and cultivation of a positive workplace and employee experience, including fostering a cooperative work culture within and across the functional teams and other units within the School and the University,
  • support strengthening students and alumni communication and engagement,
  • support MBA Advisory Board and Programme Committee on development of MBA programmes, etc.


The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications, skills and attributes:

  • A Master’s or higher degree, preferably in a business discipline;
  • Substantial related administrative experience, preferably in tertiary education sector, which may include at least 12 years’ post-qualification experience with not less than 10 years of supervisory experience;
  • Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Putonghua;
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills as well as ability to maintain positive rapport with a diverse group of external and internal stakeholders;
  • Strong organisational, logistical and planning skills with ability to prioritise multiple tasks under tight deadlines while maintaining high work quality;
  • Demonstrated good team building, management and organisation skills to collaborate with dynamic teams;
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision to deliver results while being an effective contributor as part of a close-knit team environment.

 

Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for two years initially commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to mutual agreement. Working at flexible hours and travelling will be required.
