The College of Business, Law and Social Sciences is welcoming applications from outstanding individuals with considerable academic standing and experience, with a significant international track record to support key research strategic considerations in the broader area of Social Policy. The Professor in Social Policy will develop and lead exciting research and education programmes in the relevant theme that is aligned with the impact driven research and innovation strategy of the University of Derby. The role also comes with opportunities to make an impact through leading research on the theme of social cultural and legal research and other emerging relevant centres in the College of Business, Law and Social Sciences.

The successful candidate will bring substantial experience and in-depth knowledge in the broader area in Social Policy including but not limited to: Sociology, Social Economics, Political Economy, Anthropology, International Studies and Political Sciences. We encourage interdisciplinary and team-based research projects and have recently established considerable infrastructure and support for research, including weekly research seminars, termly mentoring and research planning, and collaborative research projects. We are looking for candidates who can build on our demonstrative commitment to research impact and student success and who can provide specialisms in Social Policy.
