The University of Derby is the only higher education institution in Derbyshire. Our Strategic Framework 2018-2030 articulates our aim of ‘Being a Force for Positive Impact’ on the economic, social, cultural, educational and environmental prosperity of our home county. We are proud to be amongst the first universities to pledge a commitment to producing a Civic University Agreement and are also on the exciting journey of investing in research as part of our Innovation and Research Strategy 2020. The University has entered a new and exciting era, making investments in our students, staff and research infrastructure to help us achieve our overall aim of producing research that is high in quality and has an impact nationally and internationally. This ensures that knowledge created at our University informs our curriculum and supports industry, policy makers, international partners and the wider research community.

With the ambition of addressing the complex global challenges of our time, Derby’s unique interdisciplinary research is delivering positive change in Derby and Derbyshire, nationally and internationally. The College of Business, Law and Social Sciences is welcoming applications from outstanding individuals with considerable academic standing and experience, with a significant international track record to support key research strategic considerations in the broader area of Social Policy.
