We work to accelerate the transition to sustainable food and farming systems for the benefit of climate, nature and health.

The mission of the SFT is to accelerate the transition to sustainable food and farming systems on a global scale, inspired by our philosophy of the interconnectedness of the health of soil, plants, animals and people. Our vision is for all farming and land management to operate in harmony with nature, producing sustainable and nutritious food which nourishes both people and planet.

Now, more than ever, we need to work to create a policy, economic and cultural environment that supports sustainable food and farming. To achieve this, we work in three key areas: Farming policy and practice, measuring and valuing sustainability and public awareness raising.

We are seeking a new Policy Director to deliver the Sustainable Food Trust’s pioneering research and policy work – making the case and providing evidence for the global transition to sustainable, regenerative agriculture. You will develop and deliver the SFT’s strategy, manage the policy and research teams, expand and fostering relationships with key stakeholders and coordinate and write reports, position papers, policy briefings, research papers and other written material relating to sustainable food and farming.

You will be a proven policy leader with demonstrable commitment to, and understanding of, sustainable agriculture. You will bring experience of developing relationships with decision makers across a range of sectors to create impact and change, with strong external engagement and advocacy skills. You will also bring a strong ability to lead and inspire a team in a collaborative environment.

To apply, please submit a CV and covering letter, detailing how you fulfil the role description and personal specification. The deadline for applications is Monday 28 November 9am GMT.

The role will be based in the UK with some travel and flexibility. The salary is commensurate with the seniority of the appointment.
