Elsevier is creating a new role, Vice President Research Relations, Academic Ambassador, to support and advance Elsevier’s global objectives through focus on India. The Vice President Research Relations, Academic Ambassador India is responsible for building trust and influence with leading academic and research institutions across India, identifying opportunities in which Elsevier can help research leaders, advise on collaborative initiatives, and share insights gained across Elsevier.

Since 1996, Elsevier has supported and progressed alongside India in its pursuit of scientific and healthcare excellence. Elsevier India has a robust global community – comprising 24,000 editors, 17 India-originated titles in our journal portfolio, and 1.2 million peer reviewers across the spread of scientific disciplines – to develop Elsevier’s portfolio of journals, provide expert advice on research content, help attract new authors, encourage article submission and engage in peer review.

The ideal candidate will have held positions at the highest levels of academic leadership, demonstrate excellent ambassadorial skills and, deep knowledge of the Indian higher education and research landscape, and have the capacity to collaborate with colleagues across Elsevier toward our shared commitment to help researchers advance science for the benefit of society.

 

Location: The Vice President Research Relations, Academic Ambassador India can be home based in India but would benefit from being based close to a major airport and/or a city with a larger Elsevier office, such as Delhi (Gurugram) or Chennai.

Start Date: The start date is flexible, but the proposed start date is early 2023.

Compensation: Once the position description has been agreed upon, we will move to construct a compensation package. Elsevier’s SVP of Human Resources will engage to progress this at the appropriate point. Generally for senior roles it is positioned as “in line with industry benchmarks”.
