The Board of Electors to the Professorship of Nursing invites applications for this major academic leadership role tenured to the retiring age.

The post, a collaboration between the University of Cambridge and Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, will make significant contributions to the intellectual development of the discipline of nursing or midwifery, and ill have a key leadership role in developing scholarship and research capacity across nursing, midwifery and allied health professions in the NHS.

You will be a world-class academic nurse or midwife, with an outstanding record in research and research leadership, a strong track record in teaching, training and capacity-building, and a proven ability to work collaboratively with healthcare organisations. You will benefit from an exceptional academic environment, including outstanding graduate students and post-doctoral scientists, administrative support and professional services, excellent research networks, and highly collegial colleagues.

You will be expected to establish and lead programmes of research relevant to the strategy of the Department of Public Health and Primary Care, contribute to the department’s educational mission, and serve as an academic “good citizen.”

You must be qualified in either nursing or midwifery, and will maintain registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council for the duration of your post.

This is an integrated appointment between the University and the Cambridge University Hospital NHS Trust/Body ("NHS Trust"). You will therefore also be issued with an Honorary Research Contract by the NHS Trust. You should be aware that if your contract with the NHS Trust is terminated your employment with the University will be terminated, and vice versa.

You will be based in Cambridge.  A competitive salary will be offered.
