UWC (United World Colleges) is a global group of 18 schools and colleges united by a common purpose to make education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future.

UWC Robert Bosch College (RBC) is Germany’s first and only United World College and opened its doors in Freiburg in September 2014.  Uniquely situated in proximity to the ‘Dreiländereck’ of Germany, Switzerland and France, the College is home to 200 students drawn from across the world and offers a transformative, residential educational experience. The College is committed to the value of holistic education which brings together the academic rigour of the IB diploma, an extensive experiential learning programme, commitment to sustainability and a strong emphasis on service, compassion and personal responsibility.

The Board now seeks an outstanding Rektor to take up post in August 2024 to succeed the Founding Rektor, Laurence Nodder, after ten years of exceptional service.  One of the most exciting, rewarding and challenging leadership roles in international education, this is a distinctive opportunity to build on RBC’s considerable intrinsic strengths and shape the future of an exceptional community.

The successful candidate will be a passionate and values-driven educationalist with a track record of successful senior leadership and an understanding, not necessarily gained through direct experience, of the nature of leadership in a residential school context.  They will be a compelling ambassador for UWC Robert Bosch College on a local, regional, national and international stage, and will have the skills to contribute to the wider UWC movement.  Candidates must demonstrate a deep resonance with the UWC mission and values, and an appreciation of the importance of student autonomy and authentic responsibility in shaping the life of the College.

Completed applications should be uploaded at: https://candidates.perrettlaver.com/vacancies/  quoting reference number 6241. The closing date for applications is 08:30 GMT on Friday 27 January 2023.
