Deakin Business School is seeking a female Professor to further develop the discipline of Economics and drive research and education with impact.

The Department of Economics is now seeking suitable female candidates for appointment at Level E (Professor). This is a unique opportunity to further develop and contribute to an already high performing, world-class, accredited Business School and a large, comprehensive University on a steep upward trajectory. The Department, comprising 24 academics, has strengths in areas such as economic growth and development; political economy, public choice, economics of conflict; international trade; environmental economics and sustainability; economics of labour, health and wellbeing; social choice, game theory, mechanism design; industrial organisation; behavioural economics; and macroeconomic policy.

The Department is seeking an enterprising, well-rounded scholar and leader who has a comprehensive interest in research, teaching and engagement beyond academia. The appointee will have an accomplished publication record and an interest in contributing to public debate and policymaking. She will contribute to the development of Economics at Deakin through research impact and quality, innovation in teaching and learning, staff mentoring, industry engagement, and institutional collaboration both nationally and internationally. Deakin Business School subscribes to the notion of ‘leadership by example’. Accordingly, the successful candidate will have a demonstrated capacity to help shape and improve the activities of colleagues, stakeholders and students.
