This is a unique opportunity to lead and nurture a School and a Community.  We seek an inspirational leader to succeed Iain Kilpatrick and to further develop and enhance a highly successful school, propelling the Sidcot community forward in the continued pursuit of excellence in all areas.  The successful candidate will be an outstanding educational leader, able to develop and deliver the School’s strategy and vision, and to ensure that it looks to the future with continued dynamism and ambition.

Founded in 1699, Sidcot School is a thriving, co-educational, British boarding and day school situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty in Somerset and educates in the order of 630 students aged 3 to 18 from over 30 countries.  Our approach is different to other schools; the environment we live in, the way in which we teach, our Quaker values, and our long history are some of the hallmarks that make Sidcot distinct.

Blending a respect for existing strengths with new ideas and an appetite for innovation and creative thinking, the next Head will have a demonstrable track record of successful senior leadership experience.  They will be a compelling communicator, with strong strategic skills and business acumen.  A highly visible leader, the successful candidate will possess the gravitas and collegiality to work well with a committed staff team, Governors and external stakeholders.  A commitment to boarding and holistic education is sought, as is a genuine resonance with Sidcot’s Quaker values and ethos.

Sidcot School is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including DBS checks.
