The Faculty of Arts is seeking to appoint a Chair in European Politics and Society with an established reputation for excellence in research, teaching, and impact. The Chair will lead a young and dynamic team of interdisciplinary researchers, with varied research interests and disciplinary backgrounds, including history, political sciences, political sociology, political communication, comparative politics and political theory. This role is particularly suitable for an enthusiastic academic leader who thrives working in multidisciplinary teams and across different fields, and who can promote and serve the long-term interests of the team and its members within the Faculty of Arts and beyond.

The position is offered on a full-time basis and the candidate will reside near Groningen. Remuneration depends on previous qualifications and experience and ranges between €6,099 and €8,881 per month (scale H2 Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities). Salaries are supplemented with a holiday bonus of 8 % of annual salary and a year-end bonus of 8.3 % of annual salary per year.
