Oxfam is a global movement of people who are fighting inequality to end poverty and injustice.

Oxfam is working across regions in about 70 countries, with thousands of allies, and millions of people to bring change that lasts. We work in communities to save and better people’s lives all around the world every day. We campaign for economic, gender and climate justice and believe that together, we can forge an equal future, with equal rights and equal opportunities.

Following an extensive and deeply consultative reform process, Oxfam International, in July 2021, transitioned to a new global governance architecture. The new structure is designed to enable greater global balance and power sharing, effectiveness and accountability; and clearer separation between governance and management functions.

Oxfam International seeks to appoint a new Board Treasurer who will offer strategic leadership and financial guidance as the organization continues to transform itself to remain relevant, resilient and impactful into the future by being locally rooted, globally balanced and achieving impact as One Oxfam. You will be a committed individual who will bring their financial expertise and skills to monitor the financial health of Oxfam, oversee organisation-wide financial reporting, budgeting, compliance and OI Secretariat risk management and internal control frameworks.

You will bring vision, excellent communication skills and an understanding of financial oversight and governance in order to help guide and enhance the strategic development of Oxfam International. You will be able to demonstrate extensive experience in overseeing the issues of finance and risk, ideally in complex global organizations, and prior experience of corporate governance roles at board level. You will also bring a strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, in conjunction with a commitment to creating lasting impact driven by the values of social justice.

To apply, please submit a CV and covering letter, detailing how you fulfil the role description and personal specification quoting reference 6350. The deadline for applications is 9am GMT Monday 20th March.

Oxfam International is committed to promoting equality and diversity within the organization.  We believe in equality of opportunity regardless of race or racial group (including colour, nationality, ethnicity, national origins), religion or belief, age, disability, sexual orientation, sex, gender re-assignment and gender identity, marriage and civil partnership, and pregnancy, maternity and paternity. Our ambition to further develop the Oxfam confederation as a diverse network of inter-dependent organisations is grounded in our commitment to global balance and diversity of experience and perspective.  Candidates from across the globe are encouraged to apply.
