Singapore Management University (SMU) invites applications for a tenured full professor position in finance to hold the Mapletree professorship in real estate.
SMU has been founded only in 2000 and offers a transformative education for a new generation of graduates and leaders, and a multi-disciplinary research environment to help tackle the world’s complexities and positively impact humanity. The University is home to the Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB), one of Asia’s premier business schools. The School has grown rapidly and despite its young age, it has earned the AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA accreditations. In the most recent business school rankings by UT-Dallas based on top journal publications, SMU ranks in the top 50 worldwide.
Its Finance group is one of the most productive and highly ranked worldwide; faculty members in the Finance group have PhDs from Cornell, Harvard, INSEAD, Iowa, London Business School, Ohio State, Princeton, Rochester, Stanford, UT-Austin, and Washington (St Louis) among others. SMU subscribes to all major financial databases and provides generous research funds to support conference travel and other research activities. The group hosts an annual summer research camp, an active research seminar series, and research visits by distinguished finance scholars from leading universities. The Finance group also has a Ph.D. program with high quality students and good recent placements.
The professorship in real estate finance benefits from the generous support of the Mapletree Foundation (including funding for post-doctoral researchers). Mapletree is a leading real estate development, investment and capital management company headquartered in Singapore. As at 31 March 2022, Mapletree owns and manages S$78.7 billion of office, retail, logistics, industrial, data centre, residential and student accommodation properties.
