For more than 145 years, Northamptonshire County Cricket Club has sought to deliver on our mission of providing all people in Northamptonshire and the surrounding National Counties the opportunity to engage and explore cricket. From professional cricket as part of the first-class game through to the recreational game, we want everyone involved in cricket to have a safe, positive experience and be welcomed in supported in their activities.

Northamptonshire CCC seeks to identify and appoint a new Board Director with safeguarding expertise to join our board and Chair its Safeguarding and Welfare Sub-Committee. As a Board Director, you will help advance our mission to ensure cricket is an accessible and inclusive sport at all levels for all in Northamptonshire and in surrounding counties. Playing a key role in our Club’s non-executive leadership, you will help us benefit from the very best governance as we look to deliver on our Countywide Plan.

The successfully appointed candidate will demonstrate senior leadership with respect to safeguarding and welfare to foster and strengthen safe, positive and welcoming experiences for everyone involved in cricket in Northamptonshire. Strongly inclusive in their approach, they will be collaborative and consultative, proactively seeking out diverse views and needs to help drive collective decision-making in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. They will bring a passion for the power of sport and strong appreciation for the role of contemporary governance. Demonstrating balanced judgement, absolute integrity and excellent communication skills, they will help us to take our impact to new heights.

LOCATION: The County Ground, Abington Avenue, Northampton NN1 4PR.

POSITION TITLE: Board Director (Safeguarding and Welfare).

TERM: 3 years, which can be, upon review, extended to three consecutive terms.

TIME COMMITMENT: 10-12 days per year, with optional match day attendance.
